OnePlus 5T Seen Passing Bend, Burn, and Scratch Tests Ahead of Its First Sale
OnePlus 5T has made an appearance in durability tests that showcase its durability. The tests, conducted by YouTuber JerryRigEverything, prove a tough build of the latest OnePlus smartphone – no matter whether it is a bend or some scratches. The narrator in the five-minute-long video takes OnePlus 5T (Review) through a series of tests to examine how durable the new smartphone is. OnePlus 5T durability test video has gone live just hours before it goes on sale for the first time in India; it will be available via Amazon, only for Prime members, at starting price of Rs. 32,999.
The video begins with a scratch test that uses the Mohs scale to examine the hardness of the Gorilla Glass-featuring display of the OnePlus 5T. The YouTuber found that the glass receives some scratches at the sixth level of the scale, while some deeper signs appear at the seventh level.
Following the traditional scratch test, the YouTuber uses a razor blade to test how robust is the paint job of the OnePlus 5T. The video reveals that the back panel of the new OnePlus smartphone is prone to scratches, but the back-facing fingerprint scanner is made of an “invincible” ceramic material that is highly resistant to scratches. Further, the dual-camera setup that includes a 16-megapixel RGB and a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor, both with f/1.7 aperture lens, resists scratches to a large extent. However, the metal frame and the buttons such as the volume rocker and the mute slider are not as sturdy as the glass panel or the fingerprint scanner of the OnePlus 5T.
The YouTuber also uses a lighter to burn the display panel of the OnePlus 5T. That odd test for about 20 seconds resulted in a white spot on the screen that remained behind.
Ultimately, the durability test range concludes with a bend test that didn’t show any signs of bends. It appears that despite the 7.3mm thickness of the OnePlus 5T, its unibody design passes the cruel bend test.
“Other than the lack of water resistance and the lack of wireless charging, this [OnePlus 5T] is an incredibly full-featured and useful phone with a price point low enough to benefit customers,” the narrator of the JerryRigEverything channel says in the video. It is worth noting here that OnePlus provided the unit used for the durability tests, and users are not recommended to perform such tests on their handsets.
With a price starts at Rs. 32,999, the OnePlus 5T will go on sale in India for the first time at 4.30pm IST today. The early access sale will be conducted only for Prime members on Amazon.in, but the smartphone will also be available via the OnePlus online store and OnePlus Experience Store in Bengaluru. Open sales begin on November 28, a week from now.

OnePlus 5T Vs OnePlus 5: Specs, features, price and everything to know
The OnePlus 5T, on first look, seems like a great phone. Not so much if you recently purchased a OnePlus 5 though. For obvious reasons. Launched in June, the OnePlus 5, was well until last night OnePlus’ best phone yet. The equation changed last night, when OnePlus launched a souped up version of it , aka the OnePlus 5T. Not a lot has changed, and yet, the OnePlus 5T now seems like a phone that the OnePlus 5 should have been in the first place. The OnePlus 5T, if I was to be brief with you, comes with an upgraded design and an upgraded dual rear camera system. Most importantly, the OnePlus 5T costs as much as the OnePlus 5 meaning OnePlus will be looking to discontinue the latter, in the days to come.
But before we talk of the differences, a few words about the similarities. There are many similarities too between the two phones, the most striking of them is the price. The OnePlus 5T has been launched at the same price at which the OnePlus 5 was launched. This means it will cost Rs 32,999 for the 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage version, whereas the price for the 128GB storage and 8GB RAM variant is Rs 37,999. In other words, it also means that the OnePlus 5 has been discontinued and once its current stock has been exhausted, it won’t be available in the market.
Then there are similarities in the design, in the software and in the feature set between the OnePlus 5T and the OnePlus 5. Even the core hardware – the snapdragon 835, up to 8GB RAM and internal storage of up to 128GB – is same. So what are the differences? Why OnePlus has decided to announce its new phone.

Doubling up for image quality
A new Android smartphone developed by Motorola Mobility, a division of Lenovo, the Moto X4 has a long going it, not least the smarter and good quality camera. It looks sleek too, coming in a choice of Sterling Blue and Super Black. I tested the Super Black and loved the look of its curved corners and back cover. The back has the lenses of the two cameras sticking out a little, rather like the lens barrel of a compact camera.
Moto X4 is tough too with an anodised aluminium frame and Corning Gorilla Glass panes protecting front and back with. Moreover, the smartphone is water resistant, conforming to IP68 rating. This allows you to run or cycle in the rain without worrying.
Although Moto X4 is not powered by the flagship Qualcomm processor, performance is still fast. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 2.2 GHz octacore processor and it has 4 gigabytes of working memory or RAM and 64 GB of internal storage that is expandable with a microSD card by up to 2 terabytes.
With this octacore processor and a lot of memory, the Moto X4 gives you all the performance you need to watch videos and play games free from annoying stutters. It runs on pure Android 7.1.1 operating system without third-party user interface on top of it that may slow it down.
The Moto X4 comes with 5.2inch Full HD 1080p IPS display with pixel depth of 424 ppi. This resolution makes the display good for watching HD clips and for viewing high-resolution photos.

Report: Samsung’s Galaxy S9 & Note 9 Will Feature Heat Pipes
Samsung will reportedly continue to use heat pipes with its 2018 major smartphone releases, according to a new report out of DigiTimes which in turn credits “sources from upstream supply chain” for the information. While also noting how suppliers of these heat pipes have already started production on the parts.
This is following on from rumors which have suggested Samsung might not include heat pipes in its upcoming phones next year. The main reason given for this is that they just are too expensive for what they are. However, due to the fundamental nature of heat pipes acting as an additional measure to stop a smartphone from overheating, some alternative form of cooling would need to be in place instead. This is where vapor chambers come in. As the report does make it clear that a number of smartphone brands are already testing out vapor chambers with a view to including them in their upcoming models. Although the report also specifies that in spite of the seemingly high interest in this alternative technology, no orders have been placed as of yet. With the suggestion being that 2019 is more likely to be the time when vapor chambers start to show up in smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy S9 won’t be a match for Apple iPhone X if these benchmarks are accurate
With the release of the iPhone X, Apple made a bold move, and it seems to be paying off. To take on this radically designed flagship phone from its arch rival, Samsung is apparently readying as many as three models of its next-generation Galaxy S handset, dubbed the Galaxy S9, that will likely be launched in the first half of 2018.
The tech world has been hit by a lot of Galaxy S9 rumours over the past few months. The speculated specs of the Galaxy S9 have been largely impressive, with the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and Samsung’s home-grown second-generation 10nm Exynos chipset mostly driving the excitement among consumers.
There’s no doubt that the Galaxy S9 will be one of the most powerful Android smartphones in the world when it launches. But, a new leak has suggested that Samsung’s efforts still may not be enough to match the brilliance of Apple’s iPhone X.
The comparison between the iPhone X and the Galaxy S9 is based on newly leaked benchmark test results on the Geekbench website for a Samsung smartphone with the model number SM-G960F.
While the Geekbench listing doesn’t mention Galaxy S9 anywhere on the site, the model number SM-G960F is widely believed to be tied to the global version of the Galaxy S9, which is expected to feature Samsung’s new Exynos 9 Series 9810 processor. The SM-G960F handset on Geekbench is apparently powered by a new octa-core Exynos chipset and 4GB of RAM, along with Android 8.0 Oreo.
